These pictures are from "Mary Town", a group of Franciscan Friars and sisters, as well as home to The National Militia of the Immaculata. Mary Town is also the National Shrine to Saint St. Maximilian Kolby. The Militia of the Immaculata was founded by Saint Maximilian Kolby. For those of you who don't know, saint Maximilian Kolby prostrated himself in front of a statue of the Blessed Mother when he was young. The following is from a website describing Saint Kolby: "He prayed and asked her to tell him what he was suppose to do with his life. He then received an apiration of our Lady. She was holding two crowns. One was white, and the other red. The white crown represented purity, and the red one martyrdom. Our lady then asked him which he would choose. "I choose them both," was his eager answer. The Queen of Heaven then smiled and disappeared." Of course the white crown represented his choice to become a Franciscan Friar. The latter crown of martyrdom would represent his death in a Nazi concentration camp when he asked executioners to spare a married mans life and take his own. For more information on Saint Maximilian Kolby you can go to: http://www.catholicism.org/pages/kolbe.htm, and for information on the Militia of the Immaculata (The Militia of the Immaculata (MI) is a worldwide evangelization movement founded by St. Maximilian Kolbe in 1917 that encourages total consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary as a means of spiritual renewal for individuals and society.) go to: http://www.consecration.com/ . Mary Town is only two miles from the seminary...
