Approaching Herodian Mountain (It appears as a volcano)  Herod the Great built this hill up higher

than it actually was so it would appear as a volcano; therefore no one would venture up and attack.  He then built his

fortress downward into the mountain.

THE DEAD SEA

The Dead Sea, at its surface, is the lowest point on earth, 1300 ft below sea level

There is so much salt in the sea that its impossible to sink. Notice the people "way out" who are floating without life jackets

FYI - The country of Jordon is on the other side of the Dead Sea and can be seen behind the haze.
